Decentralised Energy
Decentralised energy is generated close to where it will be consumed, and distributed through local networks. It allows your organisation to take greater control of its energy supply and become less dependent on the national grid. In time, the main sources of energy can become local, with grid supplies reserved for peak demand or contingencies.
We develop energy centres and other assets that provide locally generated electricity and heating. The renewable and other low-carbon technologies we use will save you money and carbon and enhance your CR performance. The infrastructure that serves your organisation can also be linked to other buildings in your local community, enabling you to earn revenues and enhance your reputation through the sale of surplus energy.
Decentralised energy will also help you to comply with planning guidelines on low-carbon onsite sources, and building regulations governing heat and power. Both currently apply to new buildings and may well be extended to existing buildings in the future.
