‘If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it’; it may be a cliché but it’s still true and nowhere more so than in energy and carbon management. You can’t achieve meaningful reductions here unless you start with detailed, reliable data. That’s why many of our energy management programmes begin with the installation of accurate real-time meters.

Data on its own is just meaningless numbers. You need to be able to turn that raw information into useful knowledge, which is exactly what our teams do. We utilise the statistics on your energy use as the basis for tailor-made programmes for our carbon compliance, guaranteed reduction, and renewable energy services.

Data is so important to us in the energy management process that the first step we usually take on a project is the installation of smart metering and Automatic Monitoring and Targeting (AM&T) software. Plus we have a dedicated Energy Bureau supported by sophisticated software systems to compile and analyse the data. We use energy data in so many important ways. One is in technical asset management, where we assess the on-going performance of specific pieces of equipment according to their energy efficiency, which helps us determine the right maintenance and replacement schedules.
