Innovative ideas
There’s a good reason why we use the phrase ‘innovative ideas’ rather than simply ‘innovation’. People often assume you need the latest new technology to achieve real energy savings, but that’s not always the case. Leading edge kit can help, but fresh thinking and clever ideas are just as important, and that’s about tailoring what we do to what each site needs.
Understanding a client’s specific problems helps us tailor the solutions. We know that the most successful initiatives are those that are specifically tailored to the site or building in question, fully integrated with the right control, monitoring and corrective action plan, and included in the site’s forward maintenance programme. In other words, we know what works best, and where, whether that’s new equipment or simply a cleverer way of using what you already have. For example, what may appear to be an expensive energy saving device becomes a viable solution if you know you can tap into CERT funding or Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECAs).

Often we’ll refine an innovative idea that worked in one situation and apply it somewhere else. Or we’ll call in one of our energy specialists so that a fresh pair of eyes will see the problem differently, allowing us to devise a smarter solution. We’ve built our success on applying this combination of practical know-how and technical capability in the best possible way for each of our clients. No-one has more extensive technical expertise in conceptual design and development, and no one has more practical knowledge about how to implement process enhancements, and manage on-going improvements.

EXAMPLES:
• We reorganised weekend hotdesking at the main offices of a leading technology company to avoid wasteful heating and lighting of empty spaces
• We used security information collected as employees checked in in the morning to predict the number of hot lunches they’d require
• At a major aeronautical manufacturer security guards were trained to turn off lights at the end of the day, saving over £50,000 in energy costs across six sites.
