The University of Strathclyde needed a partner they could rely on to deliver painting and decorating services across all their university sites. As the contract is planned maintenance with some ad-hoc reactive work, they were looking for a painting team who could deliver work at short notice and work within tight time schedules.

MITIE’s painting team was the chosen provider, not only because of our competitive price but also because the University of Strathclyde were confident that MITIE had the resources and skills necessary for a project of this scale. A minimum of two painters work full time at the University and at busy times of the year, up to 30 painters are on-site.
How did we help?
A 3-year Measured Term Contract has been established with the University. All information is shared electronically including work requests, quotes and final accounts. Monthly project meetings are held to plan and review workload, spend, quality and safety. These regular reviews maintain the focus on challenging KPIs, ensuring our client is confident we’re meeting targets and delivering top quality work for each and every job.
As the University buildings are often occupied, our professional team needed to work around students, staff and research activities. Work has to be well planned to allow the on-site team access to the property at a time that causes the least amount of disruption.
