Why choose us
Why choose us?
Commitment to health and safety
Health and safety is a top priority for us at MITIE. Our Gas Safe engineers are accredited to the requirements of OHSAS 18001 and we have our own health and safety team who monitor our work and strive to continually improve our performance.
Before we carry out any work on-site, all of our work activities are individually risk assessed and our people are given a safety pack to inform them of these risks. We also carry out regular site safety inspections and monitoring to ensure compliance with site rules and management procedures. What’s more, we even employ external health and safety consultants to carry out site safety inspections on an ad-hoc basis. At MITIE, nothing is left to chance.
In case you need anymore evidence that health and safety is at the heart of our organisation, we recently won a ‘Committed to Health & Safety’ award for our outstanding implementation of health and safety procedures and compliance with current legislation. This was just one of the awards up for grabs at the Committed to Construction in the East Midlands Awards ceremony, which was hosted by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
Passion for customer care
Every job we do starts with listening to our customers. From day one we’ll work in partnership with you and make sure you’re happy with our work throughout each step of the project. We also have a customer care team who are committed making sure you receive a world-class service, first time, every time.
Investing in our people
We’re a people business. That means we’re all about motivating people and making them want to do their job better than anyone else in the world. So we make sure they have the skills, training and support they need to excel, as well as a fair, equal and responsible environment to work in.
But we also need to invest in our future and help young people to gain skills and employment in the local communities where we work. That’s why we take on apprentices and give them work experience on our contracts. One of our plumbing apprentices was even a runner up in the Celebration of Learning and Skills awards 2009. A great achievement!
