MiTSM

MITIE Total Security Manager (MiTSM) is web-based management system developed by our internal IT team. It has been specifically designed to meet the exact requirements of our manned services operation and provides real-time, accurate information at the touch of a button.

In 2011, we enhanced our web-based system to make front-line roles simpler and quicker. Working seamlessly with the existing system, it gives our operations managers the freedom to complete their daily tasks away from the office. This has resulted in more officer and client-facing time to develop and enhance relationships, and allow our people to focus on their clients’ business risks.

The web-based system also gives our officers access enabling them to view pay details, submit holiday requests, and explore past, present and future daily activity at any time. We’ve also incorporated news and feedback sections to enable greater communication with our officers. The environmental benefits include paperless news and communications, reduced car journeys and paperless payslips.

We are able to integrate MiTSM with other technology; the versatile and flexible system allows our IT people to continually develop the system, ultimately improving our service to you.

Bright ideas in training

An officer with a customerOur training capability is something that really sets us apart. All courses have been developed to satisfy the requirements of the industry regulators by our in-house training and performance specialist; awarded the BSIA Chairman’s Award for his passion and delivery of training and development. Courses are delivered at one of our 23 dedicated training suites, situated within our national branch network.

We understand that your needs are unique and through our Creating a Security Excellence Culture programme, we will bespoke our existing training courses to suit you. As a security officer is often the first person that a visitor may encounter on entering a building, we feel that it is vital that our officers be ambassadors for a client’s brand. We work closely with our clients to develop training programmes built around their specific brand values helping our officers to embed themselves within a client’s organisation and deliver security excellence in line with its culture.

Security Excellence guides
These unique pocket guides, designed and written by our in-house training and performance specialist, are available in three versions for our security personnel, response services officers and operations managers. Within the guides is everything our people need to know and do to be effective in their roles. The guides are also used as training aides and help our managers to measure the performance of our officers.

Total security management diploma
In 2011 we launched the first ever diploma in total security management, accredited by Middlesex University, to train security managers and put learning into practice. The two-year professional development programme is accredited to an academic level 4 qualification, covering security, business risk and security risk management.

Adding value

There are lots of ways in which we can add value through our security teams. From taking on additional tasks such as meter readings, confidential shredding and maintenance checks, to tasks that can help reduce your carbon footprint and save money, such as conducting energy conservation patrols and managing recycling. We will assess each unique site individually to recognise which additional tasks our officers can carry out.
