Fresh thinking
People
Self delivering, high quality technical facilities management services spanning dozens of different skill-sets and requiring detailed specialist knowledge, needs a very different approach to the development and management of people. Three years ago we launched a three-pronged HR strategy to recruit high calibre people, train and develop them to maximise their potential and then suitably reward them for their efforts. The impact of the strategy is now beginning to show in the form of enhanced retention rates, flourishing graduate and apprenticeship programmes and a Learning and Development programme that was a finalist in the 2009 PfM Partnership Awards. We do all this because our values are based around people and passion. And also because we know that well trained and motivated people will deliver excellent service – which is what you want.
Technology
Our planned preventative maintenance regimes plus reactive call-out activities are all managed through a sophisticated computerised works management system, supported by a well resourced, centralised, customer services centre. It isn’t rocket science but the investment we’ve made means you get the service you asked for, when you expect it, on time and on budget.
A low carbon future
Whether or not we believe the experts, the climate is changing. This will impact all of us through the Government initiatives now being implemented to ensure we use finite energy resources better.
We simply have to prepare for the low carbon economy. We will be forced to act more responsibly to control our energy consumption and reduce our carbon emissions. This change will require fresh thinking on everyone’s part. But rather than seeing this as a cost and a handicap to business we need fresh thinking to look at it as an opportunity.
That’s why MITIE has developed CarbonCare - a sustainable approach to managing your portfolio in a way that can reduce costs and carbon emissions simultaneously. Let us show you how.
